Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI) Workshop - Live Virtual Training (LVT)
8/9/25 Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM EST
8/23/25 Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM EST
(All sessions are required)
Scope: Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI)is an advanced workshop for individuals who have completed APICS’ Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and have some presentation experience. LDI expands upon TTT’s presentation concepts, expanding upon them to promote interactive classroom dynamics. Its purpose is to recognize adult learning styles and to create hands-on training exercises to engage students. Attending LDI will increase your confidence and effectiveness as a professor, teacher, consultant, team leader, project manager, trainer or public speaker.
LDI is training, not education. Training deals with the how while education deals with the why. Training results in observable/measurable behavior on the part of the learner. This workshop is a hands-on, do-it-yourself, no-nonsense, intense 2-day immersion experience. Its two days consists of training activities with important pre-workshop assignments. Attendance is strictly limited to 12 slots to ensure individualized coaching.
Who Should Attend?Workshop participants will:
Gain a better understanding of adult learning principles
Select training methods that increase retention
Mix teaching styles to match student or audience learning styles
Incorporate feedback into future training events
Deepen expertise in handling challenging classroom situations
Curriculum: LDI involves 2 full days of instruction, providing best practices such as Kolb’s Learning Model, methods to increase retention, Bloom’s Taxonomy, review and bridging tools and extemporaneous speaking. This workshop is unique in its ability to provide a FUN, SAFE atmosphere where people can develop a personal presentation style guaranteed to optimize their effectiveness and the quality of their message.
NOTE: Several adult learning styles will be discussed during LDI. An important exercise is built around the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile (KELP). The Experiential Learning Institute is the sole source provider for this assessment. Their KELP Profile is only available via a single-user digital license which costs $35.00 USD. This tool is required for every LDI participant. We cannot build its cost into our registration fee because of the single-user digital license. Please take this 20-minute assessment before class, and have your 24-page Analysis Report available for our in-class activity. Order at this link: KELP Profile
Cost: $650 for ASCM members ($900 nonmembers).
The facilitator for this workshop will be Alex Chien.
